Stranger Things: The Encounter

An reimagination of the retail experience through interactive storytelling - experiential, integrated, product

Brief:
Partnering with Netflix Retail Experience team, we thought to bring the Stranger Things world to Singapore via a retail pop-up event. But we wanted to elevate the experience, and what better way to create an interactive event that the fans can partake as part of the story.

Concept:
Building on the world of Stranger Things, visitors to the event are introduced to a game of Dungeons & Dragons at the Hellfire Club. And from there, they are led on a immersive journey through various notable locations from the show before culminating in a battle with the main antagonist - Vecna

Underpining their journey through the event is their digital ticket which doubles up as a virtual collectible that evolves as they engage with the various interaction points throughout the experience.

And the reward for defeating Venca? Access to Starcourt Mall and it's inventory of exclusive Stranger Things merchandise. As a bonus, the virtual collectible unlocks special discounts and personalized products that visitors can purchase as a keepsake to the event.
